Dear Jake and Josh fans:
They did it! The boys had their feeding tubes removed today, ending their amazing journey from “micro-preemies” to “normal” boys exactly six weeks before their 5th birthday.
While it’s mostly symbolic because Jake & Josh haven’t had to be “plugged in” for months, it is still a milestone we are tremendously proud to celebrate. After all, this was it – the last direct connection to their frightening start.
We know there could still be some hidden obstacles out there, but, hey, that’s true for every kid. And now we can truly say that Jake & Josh are just like any other kid, the greatest compliment of all.
We owe another big thank-you to everyone who has thought about and prayed for the boys throughout their ordeal. We truly believe we couldn’t have done it without y’all.
Thanks also to everyone who has supported our Aron Family Team for the March of Dimes’ WalkAmerica event.
So far, we’ve raised $3,842 toward our goal of $10,000 with three weeks left until the big event – Saturday, April 21, 9 a.m. at Norbuck Park near White Rock Lake . For more details, or to donate, go to www.walkamerica.org/aronfamily, or link there from our Web site, www.jakeandjosh.net.
One last thing – a programming note:
- Set your TiVos, DVRs, VCRs or alarm clocks to see us on “Positively Texas” at 2 a.m. on Saturday, April 7, on CBS 11.
- We’re being interviewed on Wednesday – so we’ll be taping it, too! It’ll be posted on our Web site after that, in case you miss it.
Love,
Lori, Jaime, Zac, Jake & Josh
P.S. – If you plan on walking and haven’t already told us, please reply to this e-mail so we can add you to our list. We need to make sure there are enough T-shirts and lunches for everyone.
